***龙年 Year of Dragon 2024/2025 Dim Sum Rat European AWARD for Best Yum Cha Atmosphere*** Oriental City is a traditional dark wood interior restaurant. Full dim sum menu, with some Sichuan and even some Macau dishes. It's attached to a large Asian food market. Very 1930's Hong Kong style. The entry is at the back through the car park of the food supermarket and parking can be complex so make sure you check the parking rules! They have brisk service (authentically Cantonese) do you will need to be firm when ordering, particularly on Sundays. They have a wonderful busy, bustling atmosphere especially on weekends. Standouts: Solid har gow and wonderful, fragrant prawn chive dumplings. Cuttlefish dumpling is the delicious stand- out along with the choy with ginger. Excellent refreshing fresh jasmine tea! Not Strongest: Fried squid is not so crispy, a little greasy

Haven't been to this restaurant in a long while but I'm glad that we chose here to celebrate dad's 76th birthday. The food was the best ever. It was all very freshly cooked and very tasty. The service was very friendly and focused. Can't wait to go again.

The Oriental City Restaurant is one of the top Chinese restaurants with a history of more than 10 years in Leeds. It provides very traditional Cantonese food with authentic tastes, and is the first choice for local Chinese people to have a wedding feast or party. There are also Chinese take-away food available. The classic decoration makes you feel at home instead of in the UK. You should not miss it.

Came here for an authentic Chinese meal when the lover got upset with the lack of lanterns and overall whiteness of G-Wu. Oriental City certainly makes you feel like you have stepped into a classy restaurant on the back streets of Bangkok and Jackie Chan is going to burst through the wall and smash up the shiny black tiles and wooden carvings...if only it wasn't for the hip ghetto kids having a 15th birthday party on the table next to us!! I have been here in the daylight and you would never know that it was light outside! A real step out of the ordinary. Anyway, important stuff. Food. Wonderfully, I got to try the Vegetarian Set meal. a rarity for a veggie! For £32 we stuffed our very hungry faces full of mountains of tasty food (soup, starters, main) and took home a doggy bag (that i didn't give to the doggy) and drank lashings of jasmine tea. Awesome! I generally prefer thai food, but I really did like this meal. I want to come back to try the supermarket downstairs! ... they might have that weird tofu shaped like prawns!
